An Act to standardize and protect government wordmarks, and for purposes connected therewith
Be it Enacted by His Most Gracious and Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of Parliament assembled, as follows–
Preface
- This Act shall be known as the Communications (Office Wordmarks) Act, Bill 963, 2026.
- Unless otherwise indicated in this Act, no corporation or individual shall be bound by this Act.
- In definitions, ’territorial’ shall be construed as any division of the Commonwealth, and not just official territories.
- Territories and Realms of the Commonwealth shall adopt the same format:
- replacing the arms with the arms of the territory or realm, if applicable;
- replacing the Gadus with the highest ranking territory-specific order, if applicable;
- replacing the fish, if a territorial symbol other than the arms of that territory is employed.
Template
- Assuming a wordmark height of one inch, and a standard gap of a quarter inch, an official wordmark shall consist of:
- a coloured bar, one-eighth inch width;
- a standard gap;
- a logo as specified in Section 6 of this Act, one inch width;
- a standard gap;
- the name of the office, department, organization, etc. in Helvetica font, as follows:
- for one line, the text should be of a sizing of 48 points.
- for two lines, the text should be size and line spacing of 36 points, left justified.
Logos
- The logos, and subjected offices, shall be:
- For appointments by the Sovereign (including the government as a whole but not its subsidiaries), the Shield and Crown of the Realm encircled by the belt of the Gadus;
- For governmental subsidiaries, cabinet offices (but not the shadow cabinet), the Arms of the Realm;
- For subsidiaries which have specific logos, approved by the Gadus King of Arms and the Sovereign, the logo of said office;
- Any lesser office shall simply use the shield of the Realm.
- Any persons in any office of the Crown, including secretaries of state, deputies, civil heads, etc., shall use the fish from the Flag of Baustralia.
- Offices, et cetera, in colonial territories and realms shall follow such rules as applicable, substituting equivalent achievements.
Colours
- The bars shall be coloured as follows, except with authorization by the Sovereign:
- in print media, and digital media on light colours:
- Eligible Baustralian offices shall use blue;
- Eligible colonial offices, red;
- Other offices, and officeholders, i.e. which bear the fish, black.
- in digital media on dark colours:
- Eligible Baustralian offices shall use light blue;
- Eligible colonial offices, pink;
- Other offices, and officeholders, i.e. which bear the fish, white.
- Offices, et cetera, in colonial territories and realms shall follow rules as applicable, substituting equivalent achievements.
