An Act to change the method of voting on Acts of Parliament, to include three reading stages, and to include the Right Honourable the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled in the legislative process, bound by the Fiftieth statute of the Parliament of Baustralia which sat during the Third Year of the Reign of King John, commonly known as the Parliament (Activity) Act, 2020, and for purposes connected therewith
This Act shall be known as the Parliament Act, C831, 2024.
Provisions of this Act referring to His Majesty the King extend also to the Heirs and Successors of His Majesty, Kings and Queens of the Kingdom of Baustralia.
Readings
All Bills of Parliament shall have two sets of three readings, each set performed in each House of Parliament.
On the first reading, no vote will take place, and the long title of the Bill shall be read to the House. After the reading, the Bill shall be printed for the second reading.
On the second reading, the entirety of the bill is presented to the House, and a debate shall follow.
On the third reading, the final Bill, with changes made from the debate of the second reading, will be read and voted on.
If successful,
in one house, the Bill will be sent to the other House for the same three readings.
in both Houses, after the three readings, the Bill will be sent for assent by His Majesty the King.
House of Lords
The House of Lords shall in the same manner as the Commons, be required to be present once per month, for the purpose of voting.
No Peer or otherwise Lord shall lose their seats if inactive, but shall be recorded as absent, and not be required to vote.
