An Act to Establish provisions for Statute of Limitations in connection to claims and crimes, and for purposes connected therewith

Be it Enacted by His Most Gracious and Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of Parliament assembled, as follows–

Preface

  1. The short title of this Act is the Statute of Limitations Act, 2025.

Statute of Limitations

  1. A statute of limitations is defined as a requirement for a criminal or civil proceeding, in which the claim must be made before the prescribed time passes.
  2. Petty crimes will have a statute of limitations of no more than two years.
  3. Indictable offenses will not have a statute of limitation period.
  4. Claims of debts that are unpaid will have a statute of limitations period of no more than three years.
  5. Injury claims will have a statute of limitation period no more than three years.
  6. All proceedings left undefined will be considered to not have a statute of limitations period, unless indicated otherwise.
