An Act to Establish and Regulate the Privy Council of Baustralia, and for purposes connected therewith

Be it Enacted by His Most Gracious and Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of Parliament assembled, as follows–

Preface

1. The short title of this Act is the Privy Council Act, 2025.

Privy Council

2. A Privy Council of Baustralia will be established, which will be tasked with rendering aid and advice to the Crown and Government when consulted.
3. A member of the Privy Council will be known as a Privy Counsellor.
4. The Sovereign will appoint or dismiss a Privy Counsellor, with the advice of the Lord President of the Privy Council.
5. The Privy Council will be headed by a Lord or Lady President of the Privy Council, who will hold office at the pleasure of the monarch of Baustralia.
6. The Lord President of the Privy Council will be assisted by a Deputy Lord or Lady President of the Privy Council, who will hold office at the pleasure of the monarch of Baustralia.
7. A Privy Counsellor will serve for the natural duration of their life, unless dismissed by the Sovereign beforehand.

Powers of the Privy Council

8. The Sovereign may, by the advice and consent of the Privy Council, issue an Order of Council.
9. An Order of Council will accomplish certain secondary functions in lieu of an Act of Parliament, where provided for by law only.
10. An Order of Council may otherwise issue certain proclamations or announcements related to important royal or public events of a non-statutory nature.
