An Act to Establish provisions for the Judiciary in Baustralia, and for purposes connected therewith

Preface

  1. The short title of this Act is the Judiciary Act, 2025.

Judiciary

  1. There will be a single and supreme court in Baustralia known by the name and style of the State Court of Baustralia.
  2. The State Court of Baustralia will have one Lord or Lady Chief Justice presiding over it, and no more than two Lords or Ladies Associate Justice.
  3. The Crown, with the advice and consent of the relevant government ministry tasked with justice affairs, will appoint a Lord Chief Justice or a Lord Associate Justice by letters patent.
  4. A Lord Chief Justice or Lord Associate Justice must be-
    1. a Citizen of Baustralia;
    2. not less than fifteen years of age; and
    3. must demonstrate at least some experience in legal and constitutional affairs and the law.
  5. The State Court of Baustralia will hear any and all cases in Baustralia, and will act as a court of appeals when a decision is appealed thereto.
