An Act to Establish provisions for the Judiciary in Baustralia, and for purposes connected therewith
Preface
- The short title of this Act is the Judiciary Act, 2025.
Judiciary
- There will be a single and supreme court in Baustralia known by the name and style of the State Court of Baustralia.
- The State Court of Baustralia will have one Lord or Lady Chief Justice presiding over it, and no more than two Lords or Ladies Associate Justice.
- The Crown, with the advice and consent of the relevant government ministry tasked with justice affairs, will appoint a Lord Chief Justice or a Lord Associate Justice by letters patent.
- A Lord Chief Justice or Lord Associate Justice must be-
- a Citizen of Baustralia;
- not less than fifteen years of age; and
- must demonstrate at least some experience in legal and constitutional affairs and the law.
- The State Court of Baustralia will hear any and all cases in Baustralia, and will act as a court of appeals when a decision is appealed thereto.
