An Act to Establish provisions relating to archive and records and for the publishing of certain matters of public importance, and for purposes connected therewith

Preface

  1. The short title for this Act is the Archives and Records Act, 2025.

Statute Law Reform

  1. The relevant government ministry tasked with justice affairs will be responsible for the maintenance, storage, upkeep, updating and holding of archives and records.
  2. An archive or record includes the following as under the remit of the aforesaid government ministry tasked with justice affairs-
    1. Acts of Parliament, including their designation and citation;
    2. Bills of Parliament, including their designation and citation;
    3. memoranda of Parliament and its officials and entities thereunder;
    4. memoranda of Government and its officials and entities thereunder;
    5. memoranda of the Crown and its officials and entities thereunder; and
    6. any other record of public notice as the relevant government ministry tasked with justice affairs may deem fit.
  3. Any and all electronic repositories or storage areas for information touching upon any provision provided by Section 3 of this Act is hereby placed under the management of the relevant government ministry tasked with justice affairs.
