An Act Regarding the Interpretation of a Resolution of Parliament and Purposes Connected Therewith
- This Act shall be known as the Interpretation (Resolution) Act, 2023, Bill C711.
- Any matter which requires the will of Parliament to be expressed, will be passed by Parliament as a Resolution of the House of Commons.
- A Resolution shall follow similar citation rules to Acts of Parliament:
- Regnal year as described in the Calendar Act, 3 John 1 c. 30.
- The number following ‘No.’
- An example is 3 John 1 No. 1 (Abbreviated form)
- The citation may be read as
- Third John Resolution One (Short form)
- The Third Resolution of the Parliamentary Session that sat in the Third Year of the Reign of King John I (Long form)
- The matter which requires the will of Parliament to be expressed shall be usually referred to by their name (Named form)
