7 John 1, chapter 18

An Act to amend the short title and repeal the Eleventh Chapter of the Statutes of Parliament that sat during the Seventh Year of the Reign of King John, to restore the Municipality of Monaghan to region status within the Municipality of Gloucester, to dissolve the constituency of Monaghan, and for purposes connected therewith

Be it enacted by His Most Gracious and Excellent Majesty and the Commons assembled, as follows:-

  1. This Act shall be known as the Constituencies (No. 2) Act, Bill C7101, 2023.
  2. The short title of the Eleventh Chapter of the Statutes of Parliament that sat during the Seventh Year of the Reign of King John shall be amended to read “Constituencies (No. 1) Act.
  3. The Eleventh Chapter of the Statutes of Parliament that sat during the Seventh Year of the Reign of King John shall be repealed.
  4. The Municipality of Monaghan shall be demoted to the status of Region and amalgamated with the Municipality of Gloucester.
  5. The Region of Douro will be re-established in the Municipality of Gloucester, encompassing the lands of Gloucester prior to this Act.
  6. The constituency of Monaghan shall be dissolved.
  7. The region of Monaghan will be represented by the Member of Parliament for Gloucester.
