An Act regarding Terms of Election

Preface

  1. Whereas by the Constitution, His Majesty will appoint a Prime Minister and his Cabinet through a quadrennial election, with this Act shall be changed to an annual election.
  2. This Act shall be known as the Fixed Terms Election Act.

Terms

  1. Elections shall take place every year on the same date as before, 20 June. Paragraph 6 of the Legislature section of the Constitution Act, 2 John 1 c. 2, shall be amended to read: "Terms shall be set at four years long, and the incumbent may only hold that office for no more than four consecutive terms."
