10 John 1, chapter 1
An Act to disqualify Peers from the House of Commons, to Amend the Twenty-ninth Chapter of the Statutes of Parliament that sat during the Eighth Year of the Reign of King John, for vacating certain seats in the House of Commons, and for purposes connected therewith
Be it Enacted by His Most Gracious and Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Noble Lords and Honourable Commons assembled in this present Parliament and by the authority of the same, as follows–
- This Bill shall be known as the Parliament Act, L1013, 2026.
- Members of the Peerage of Baustralia shall be disqualified from the House of Commons.
- Section 27a of the 29th Chapter of the Statutes of the Parliament during the Eighth Year of the Reign of King John, commonly known as the Parliamentary Reform Act 2025, shall be amended to read: “A common citizen of Baustralia, that is a citizen of Baustralia who does not hold a substantive title entitling him a seat in the House of Lords.”
- All seats in the House of Commons held by a citizen affected by Section 3 of this Act shall be vacated, and a by-election ordered in due time.
